Interview With Professional Organizers

The Record-Journal.com interviewed two Professional Organizers recently. One is Dee Cortiglio, who started her Professional Organizer business a year ago.

"It's been a satisfying experience for me," she said. "I love helping my clients and teaching them new skills." Clients have thanked Cortiglio for changing their lives through organizing.

"They learn to make better choices," she said. "Do I need it, do I use it and do I love it? Those are the only three things that should be in your house."

The other is JoAnne Grabinski, who teaches organizing classes.

One of her organizing classes is called ? Are you ready to organize your paper? "There is an overwhelming need for trying to make sure unnecessary paper doesn't get into the household," she said.

To accomplish this, she gives her students information on how to get on the no-mail list as well as the no-phone list.

Once the paper is in the house, Grabinski offers plans for managing the bills, warranties, product instructions, passports, birth certificates and other items of importance.

Grabinski works with clients privately through her business, Ready to Organize, as well as with students. She said organizing works best for them if they're ready to change their organizing ways.

"There's a big psychological component to organizing," she said. "It's like any other big change, like a diet or changing your spending habits."
