Teach an Organizing Class

Teaching a class on how to get organized is an excellent way to grow your Professional Organizer business. People who would be interested in taking a class about organizing are people who need help in this area. They are trying to help themselves, but after taking your class and seeing you in action, they may well reconsider doing it all themselves. And they will have a comfort level with you, so if they decide to hire a Professional Organizer, you will probably be the one they think of.

Make sure you give out a lot of materials in the organizing class. A helpful course outline containing the main points, as well as organizing tips, will be likely to be saved. Maybe it will even be passed on to some disorganized friends of the person attending the class. You could get called to organize someone who did not even attend the class! (A good reason to make sure the name and phone number of your Professional Organizer business are on everything that you hand out.)

Hand out business cards at the class too. Hand out more than one per person. They may give them to their friends who could use a little professional organizing.

In fact, one technique to get more people to attend your organization class might be to allow everyone who has paid for the class to bring one friend for free. You are really not trying to make a lot of money by teaching a class in organizing. You are trying to get yourself known as an expert Professional Organizer. I would suggest charging a small fee to attend the class though. Don?t make it completely free. People want to feel that they are getting something worthwhile. If your class is free, they may wonder at the quality of the organizational information they will be getting.

It goes without saying that you should be very professional when teaching the class. Be sure to have a lot of good information about organizing. Your students will be judging the quality of your Professional Organizer business by the quality of your class.
